Punching + Shearing — Shear Genius

Shear Genius combines a servo-electric punching machine with a right-angle shear and automatic loading equipment, removing the separate cutting operation. A single machine performs punching, forming, tapping, marking, shearing and part sorting — with no material transfer between machines.

Key advantage for mixed production: Shear Genius removes the need for separate cutting after punching — parts come out already sheared and sorted, which significantly reduces work in progress and manual handling.

Punching + Laser cutting — Combi Sharp & Combi Genius

The Combi series brings servo-electric punching and fiber laser cutting together in a single cell. The result: free contours produced by the laser, plus forming, marking and tapping operations produced by punching, without repositioning the sheet. Prima Power offers two variants — Combi Sharp (medium format, accessible price) and Combi Genius (large format, higher laser power, maximum productivity).

Panel Benders — automatic sheet metal bending

Prima Power panel benders are servo-electric machines for automatic sheet metal bending — no hydraulics, no manual tool adjustment for every part. The range comprises six models, from entry-level semi-automatic cells through to fully automated systems with robotic loading. All of them process sheet up to 3.2 mm in steel, 2.5 mm in stainless steel and 4 mm in aluminum.

Panel benders can be integrated into multi-technology production lines alongside Prima Power punching machines — a complete solution from sheet to finished part, with no manual handling between operations.

Why servo-electric? Compared with traditional hydraulic panel benders, the Prima Power models consume less energy, need no hydraulic oil and are more accurate thanks to direct axis control. Maintenance is significantly reduced.

Servo-electric press brakes — the eP series

Prima Power builds two families of servo-electric press brakes: the eP series (standard models from 55 t to 200 t) and eP Genius (a press with automatic tool change and an integrated magazine). Both families use direct servo-electric drive — no hydraulic pump, fast acceleration and deceleration, and significantly lower energy consumption than conventional hydraulic presses.

eP Genius also comes in a Duo configuration — two press brakes coupled to a shared tool magazine. The Duo configuration can combine a servo-electric press with a hydraulic one to cover a wider range of material thicknesses.

Compared with a conventional hydraulic press, the eP series cuts cycle time by up to 30% thanks to the fast acceleration of the servo-electric drive — according to Prima Power's documentation.

Automation and integrated FMS systems

Every machine in the Prima Power range is designed modularly, for integration into flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). A typical Prima Power FMS combines:

  • Automatic loading: Storage and loading systems for raw sheet — they minimize manual handling and allow continuous operation.
  • Machine-to-machine transfer: Conveyors and robotic arms that move sheets between the punching station, the bending station and the sorting area.
  • Robotic bending cells: Panel benders or press brakes integrated with anthropomorphic robots for loading and material support.
  • Part sorting and stacking: Systems that automatically sort finished parts as they leave the punching or shearing machine.

If you are considering automating a sheet metal working flow — from raw sheet to finished part — contact us for a technical discussion. Configuring an FMS depends on production volumes, the mix of parts and the space available in the plant.
